Altstec Security ("Altstec", "we", "us", or "our") provides smart home security devices and a companion mobile app that includes personal safety features such as SOS alerts, GPS tracking, and a Safety Network. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Device data — camera footage, motion sensor events, and device status from the cameras and sensors you register.
- Location data — real-time and historical GPS location when you use AI Bodyguard, SOS, or location-sharing features.
- Safety Network data — names and contact details of people you invite to your Safety Network, and the permissions you grant them.
- Usage data — app interactions, notification preferences, and diagnostic information used to improve our services.
3. How We Use Camera, Sensor & Location Data
Camera footage and sensor events are used to generate alerts, power AI-based motion and behavior detection, and provide your activity history within the app. Location data is used to power GPS tracking, SOS alerts, and AI Bodyguard monitoring for personal security. None of this data is used for advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We share your data only in the following circumstances:
- With members of your Safety Network, based on the permission level you set for each person.
- With emergency services or local authorities when you trigger an SOS alert, where such integration is available in your region.
- With service providers who help us operate Altstec (such as cloud hosting), under strict confidentiality obligations.
- When required to comply with a legal obligation or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We never sell your personal data, camera footage, or location history to third parties.
5. Data Security
All camera footage, sensor data, and location information are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel, and we regularly review our security practices.
6. Your Rights & Choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account information at any time from the app settings.
- Manage who is in your Safety Network and what they can see.
- Adjust camera and location-sharing permissions per device or feature.
- Request a full export or deletion of your data by contacting us at support@altstec.com.
7. Data Retention
Camera footage and motion alerts are retained according to your subscription plan's history limit (see Pricing). Account and Safety Network data are retained until you delete your account or request removal.
8. Children's Privacy
Altstec is not directed at children under 13. Parents and guardians may use Altstec to monitor minors within their household as part of the Safety Network, in accordance with applicable law.

Our website uses minimal cookies for essential functionality and aggregated analytics to help us understand how visitors use our site. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email before they take effect.
